“The Literary Mixtape”

(Summer Catalog for Kepler’s Books)

A summer campaign celebrating the joy of reading as curation and rhythm. I designed the printed catalog, in-store display signage, and bookmarks—each piece layered with bright typography and collage textures to echo the feeling of a handmade mixtape shared between friends.

Print Design · Campaign · Art Direction

The design concept drew inspiration from Kepler’s 70th anniversary — a moment that invited both nostalgia and reinvention. I leaned into a retro, mixtape-inspired aesthetic to honor the store’s long history while giving it a fresh, celebratory rhythm. The catalog, bookmarks, and in-store displays were treated as tracks on a curated playlist, each one evoking a distinct mood or story. Color palettes pulled from vintage print ephemera and typography reminiscent of analog design eras created a bridge between past and present. Through texture, layering, and collage, the project celebrated Kepler’s legacy as both a cultural mainstay and a space for discovery, memory, and community.

Design Process

Initial Mood Board Design Pitch

Working on The Literary Mixtape felt like designing a love letter to Kepler’s itself — a place that shaped my own creative path. Translating seventy years of literary history into color, texture, and rhythm reminded me how design can hold both nostalgia and newness in the same breath. It was a joy to build something that celebrated not only books, but the community and curiosity that keep them alive.
