Kepler’s 70th Anniversary Block Party

Campaign & Print Design

The Kepler’s 70th Anniversary Block Party was a one-day celebration of the bookstore’s seven decades as a community landmark. I led the visual direction and print design for the event - creating posters, flyers, signage, and promotional materials that carried the warmth, , and joy of Kepler’s legacy into the street. The design language fused archival influence with bright, contemporary energy—turning the anniversary into a living, visual celebration.

Event Branding · Print Design · Community Engagement

The Block Party marked the culmination of Kepler’s 70th anniversary celebrations — a party on the plaza honoring the bookstore’s legacy of community, creativity, and cultural dialogue. My goal was to create a cohesive visual language that felt festive and rooted in Kepler’s identity. I designed the event posters, flyers, postcards, directional signage, and promotional materials, integrating the refreshed anniversary branding with new celebratory motifs. The design combined bold, analog-inspired typography and vibrant color blocking to echo Kepler’s countercultural history while capturing the energy of a contemporary literary festival. Every piece was meant to feel joyful, tactile, and unmistakably “Kepler’s.”

Designer’s Note

Designing for a live celebration of Kepler’s 70-year story was an invitation to translate community spirit into color and form. The block party wasn’t just an event — it was a living archive, a gathering of the people and stories that keep the bookstore alive. Seeing my designs move through that crowd — on posters, shirts, and signs — was a reminder that design can quite literally shape how we gather and remember.
